Facial Hair Removal

Hi I want to get laser hair removal on my face and neck except my forehead. I'm getting married next year summer 2012 and want to get it done asap but I am really scared if I get it done they might get worse as I have black hair or I might get scars on my face. Can u please help me I don't know what to do.

Answer Hi it’s best to come in for a consultation where the therapist will assess your hair growth and can carry out a free patch test which will then determine if you have any skin reaction.

If you do get a reaction from the laser you will not be able to carry out the treatment. Mild reaction could be like a mild sun burn but that normally disappears within 24hrs. You may get mild itchiness again that disappears in 24hrs. A severe reaction could be, pigmentation, bruising or swelling.

If we see that your facial hair growth is very fine and fluffy then there is a 50% chance that laser could stimulate more growth in that area. My personal advice is there is no pint in treating laser with fine hairs on the face because it could stimulate hair growth in that area.

If your hairs are dark black/ brown then it is advisable to get laser done as it works better on darker hairs, however the best thing for you to do is come in for a free consultation where the therapist can assess your hair growth.
