Hi there,
I am male, Indian. I recently had two sessions of GentleYag on my face and neck area. It was pain full (not very) and I am quite happy with the results. The nurse was very helpful.
The only problem is the clinic i went to is quite expensive. I had a patch test done at another clinic today and they use Soprano XL Blue.
During my patch test I was very surprised to see that the pain was almost negligible as compared to GentleYag. But I am not sure if Soprano Xl Blue is as effective as GentleYag.
As they say, no pain no gain. Does more pain from GentleYag means it's more effective?
Please help. Many thanks. M.
Reply If you have had two sessions on the GentleYAG laser hair removal machine and you are happy with the results I would suggest you stick to that laser until you finish your treatment.
You say you’ve seen good results so why do you want to switch to another laser. Is it because the other clinic offered treatment with the Soprano Blue cheaper?
If you had the patch test with the Soprano laser on your beard area you will feel a little bit of discomfort. Having laser hair removal around thick growth areas (men’s beard) it doesn’t matter which laser you use the treatment will have some discomfort.
The advantage with the GentleYag is it is a lot faster and less messy then the Soprano laser as you don’t need to use gels.
My advice is if you see the results with GentleYAG stick with it as it’s a fantastic medical grade laser. If however, you have a problem with the pain then switch to the soprano XL Blue

All the best with your treatments,
