I'm working for laser hair removal...I had an incident that I burn the skin of patient.. what would be first remedy I have to do right after the incident??
Reply It really depends how deep the laser hair removal burns are.
If it is just a superficial burn which has left little brown scabs then that normally heals up quickly providing the patient does not pick at the area. You need to advice the patient to leave the scab alone and wear plenty of sun block in the area.
You will also get the patient to apply sudcream and antiseptic. These help the healing process quicker.
As long as the patient does not pick the scab it won’t scar but if they pick the scab it will end up scarring.
If the patient has come back after 24hrs you need to assess the skin to see how deep the laser hair removal burns are. If it is a severe laser burn advice the patent to go their GP or hospital.
If it is a mild burn the patient may need to use skin brightening after a month to lighten the scar. Normally the superficial scars will take three months to heal and you can do Microdermabrasion once the scars have settle in that area.
