Acne is a very common condition that affects approximately 20 percent of all adults and more than 80 percent of all teenagers.
The condition is not only emotionally damaging, but also physically, as it can leave permanent scars. Many of my clients with acne scarring have low self-esteem and are embarrassed about it.
If you suffer from acne, you've probably seen advertisements claiming to remove the acne-causing oil and dirt from deep within your pores with only water and a cleanser. Sadly, these products simply won't work to treat your acne scarring.
Your best option and the most effective is to use a microdermabrasion treatment.
Scars caused by acne can be treated with this process, which uses suction and mild skin abrasion to remove dirt from your pores.
Only a very fine layer of skin (10-15 microns deep) containing no live cells is removed. Hence, you won't suffer any skin damage with this procedure.
Most salons use a vacuum to remove any pore-clogging dirt and dead cells from your skin whilst the crystals or wand gently abrade your skin. Stronger suction is used during microdermabrasion to unclog all of your pores to treat your mild acne scarring.
Most of my clients experience really good results after several microdermabrasion scar removal sessions. In addition to enjoying a healthier complexion with less visible scars, they also suffer fewer blackheads and acne breakouts.
However, you should only undergo microdermabrasion if you have mild acne or superficial acne scarring.
Microdermabrasion treatment is not recommended to treat severe acne or pit marks, including stretch marks.
Have you tried any of those home dermabrasion products?
Most of them include a microcrystal cream that contains chemicals that can irritate your skin or clog your pores when they are absorbed. This can make your acne condition even worse, and it definitely won't treat your acne scarring.
Your best bet is to visit your local skin clinic and have a professional microdermabrasion done by a professional.
The crystals from the wand only remain on your skin for a very short period. Therefore, you don't have to worry about experiencing any unpleasant skin reactions.
If you're suffering from superficial acne scarring, be sure to contact your nearest salon/clinic as Microdermabrasion scar removal is an effective and relatively painless procedure.
