I have heard, through the grapevine, that if you have laser hair removal whilst having a sun tan or being exposed to the sun then it can cause white pigmentation.
Is this true?

Answer Yes this is true. If you are getting laser hair removal done and you have a tan you should wait at least 3/4 weeks before your sun tan has settled down before any laser technician can re treat the area.
The reason is because you can get white pigmentation marks or hypo-pigmentation marks on the skin. This is because your skin has gone slightly darker and your melanin in the skin has not settled and if we do the laser there is a high risk of chance you getting the white pigmentation and the brown pigmentation patches.
So if you are going on holiday you have to ensure you apply a good suntan block for eg. spf 30 and it is advisable not to have laser least two to three weeks before you fly out.
