As a transgender or transsexual client, you may face unwanted hair problems, especially a five o'clock shadow, which can be very unsightly and thick.
Many transgender clients who come to our clinic are very stressed out about this problem and apply a lot of make up just to cover that area.

Most of our clients who have undergone transgender laser hair removal have seen impressive results around the beard area.
Generally, within 6 to 12 sessions, the dark shadow slowly starts to disappear as the hairs begin to get finer. From our experience, transgender laser hair removal helps to eliminate that dreaded five o'clock shadow.
Although laser hair removal is not 100% permanent, we usually start clients with this method because it's faster, less time-consuming and poses a lower risk of scarring the skin compared to electrolysis.
Electrolysis hair removal is 100% permanent, but many of our transsexual clients who have tried the electrolysis method in the past have ended up with a lot of scarring.
The process can also be very painful and slow. Another disadvantage is that electrolysis hair removal is a weekly procedure compared to laser hair removal, which is monthly.
If you only have the odd unwanted hair, some of which may be grey, then electrolysis is a better option than laser hair removal.
However, if you have a lot of dark black/brown or light brown hair, then laser is recommended initially. You can then switch to electrolysis for the few remaining hairs.
However, we do NOT recommend mixing the two hair removal methods in one session.
One of our transsexual clients is nearing completion of a course of transgender laser hair removal, and we will soon switch him to electrolysis to remove the few remaining grey hairs.
From our experience, the legs, chest and back areas produce better results, and we have noticed that you will see faster results around the cheek area than the upper lip.
In addition, you will require regular maintenance top ups for the facial area because of the male hormone present in your body.
The only exception is if you are currently undergoing hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
The beard area is the most painful because of the high density of hair growth. Some of our transgender hair removal clients have come from other clinics to use our Soprano laser because it's less painful than the zapping laser found in other salons.
Although you may feel some discomfort, it's not nearly as painful as some other laser machines.
