As Hair Removal Experts we find that some of our clients simply want a quick fix to have smooth and sexy skin.

Waxing is a very popular form of removing unwanted body hair; it can be performed on any part of the body and will leave you feeling confident for 2-6 weeks.

Unfortunately waxing isn't as effective in the long term like Laser Hair Removal. Our clients love our waxing services and many of them eventually begin regular laser treatments.

The method of removing unwanted body hair isn't as important; all we want is for you to leave feeling great!

You can wax any area of the body. For example:

  • Eyebrow waxing
  • Leg waxing
  • Arm/underarm waxing
  • Back waxing
  • Foot waxing
  • Chest waxing
  • Entire body waxing
  • Bikini waxing (Brazilian/Hollywood)

There are two different types of waxing methods, and both methods should ideally be carried out by an experienced therapist.

Warm Wax

This is the most popular method of waxing. It involves spreading the wax thinly over the area to be treated in the direction of hair growth.

A paper strip is then placed over the wax, pressed firmly and ripped off with a quick movement against the direction of hair growth. This removes the wax and the hair from the root.

Hot Wax/Hard Wax

In this case, the wax is applied thickly and no paper strips are used. The wax is left to cool and harden, allowing therapists to remove the wax with their hand.

Health Precautions to Consider When Waxing

I don't recommend waxing if you suffer from the following:

  • Diabetes
  • Varicose veins
  • Poor circulation

Or if you use any of the following medications:

  • Retin-A
  • Renova
  • Differin
  • Accutane

These medications tend to thin the skin. Therefore, it is very likely that your skin will peel when the wax is removed.

You should also avoid waxing if your skin is affected by:

  • Warts
  • Pimples
  • Moles
  • Rashes
  • Chapped
  • Sunburn

Tips to Reduce Waxing Side Effects

We are providing some tips that can help you reduce the chance of discomfort and pain after waxing:

  • Avoid sun exposure immediately before and after waxing
  • Wear loose, natural fabrics to avoid skin irritation
  • Approximately 24-48 hours after waxing, cleanse and scrub the skin to remove all of the dead skin
  • If you suffer from any skin ailment such as acne or rashes, let them heal before waxing

If you find waxing too tedious and want a more permanent solution to remove unwanted hair, I recommend a permanent laser hair reduction treatment.
